I'm having a summer wedding and I'm on a tight budget so I decided to use candles and red apples as centerpieces and my colors are wine, purple and ivory how can I put this together to be beautiful unique and cheap.... Help

I am planning a fall wedding & I saw a really neat idea in a magazine.
You take an apple, carve out a chunch from the top and put a candle in it. Then you can float them in water, or just set it on the table.
I plan to ask a local orchard if I can pick apples that have fallen from the trees (for free hopefully!)
